The Sanibel Fly Outfitters shop has an expanded selection of fly fishing supplies that includes the area’s best collection of fly gear available in a fifty-mile radius. Brands such as Simms, Orvis, Umpqun, Enrico Puglisi, RL Winston, G-Loomis, Waterworks, Temple Fork, Allen, Hardy and Nautilus can be found on hand-written and competitively priced merchandise labels; all of which are on the lists of approved manufacturers for anyone in-the-know in the world of fly fishing.

Not sure how to fly fish? We’ll teach you! Whitney and his team of enthusiastic experts can be found, on any given day, giving FREE lessons to anyone who will listen. The open field across from the shop provides the perfect space to use your imagination and put your skills to the test on casting a line, throwing a net or tediously hooking bait so that it doesn’t fly off when out doing the ‘reel thing.’

For those who need more than just a lesson, Whitney’s offers guided charters for groups up to six people looking to escape being stuck aground and get out on the water. A half, partial or full day charter for back bay and near-shore fishing is the ultimate way to experience what people have been drawn to since Sanibel was inhabited in the 1800’s. Lunch trips, wedding ceremonies, sunset and eco-tours are available as well.
